Phosphate
Measuring Phosphate in Water
Phosphates are present in natural waters and at concentrations typically found, do not pose any specific health threats to humans. However, excessive contamination of water courses from agricultural fertiliser run off or wastewater/effluent discharge can promote excessive algi or plant growth.
Phosphorus being one of the three essential elements in healthy plant propogation, is used extensively in fertiliser products. Phosphates are a common additive in washing detergents and are used as a scale conditioner in boiler waters . Boiler phosphate prevent the formation of hard scale deposits on inner metal surfaces. Instead the deposits settle to the bottom for easy removal.
Phosphate in water can be measured with our full compliment of colorimetric equipment, from colour cards and checkits to comparators and photometer. Choose the range and accuracy required from the product list.
