Potable Water Testing
Recent high profile legionella scares on board cruise ships has highlighted issues of crew and passenger health and safety; particularly in respect to microbiological contamination of water systems. A recent study found that 49% of the 950 potable water samples taken contained less than the regulatory minimum chlorine concentration (0.2 mg/l). Regular testing of potable water tanks and outlets for chlorine and indicator bacteria like coliforms and e.coli will reduce risks, help keep employees healthy and ultimately save lives.
