Used in conjunction with the Kittiwake Incubator, dipslides avoid the need for lengthy laboratory based procedures.  Dipslide units consist of nutrient agars on a sampling paddle, permanently attached to an easy to hold cap, contained in a clear plastic shatterproof chamber. The chambers are batch numbered for quality control purposes.

Dipslides can be used to monitor microbial growth wherever the potential may exceed 1000 organisms per ml of sample fluid. Industrial water dipslides can be used to detect slime forming bacteria in cooling and industrial waters and storage tanks and for evaluating biocide performance in treated systems.
